Preparation Instructions (Before Treatment)
For best results, please follow these instructions. These steps are recommendations, not requirements, and apply only to the first treatment.
Please ensure that no children are present in the treatment area during service.
All pets should be secured or removed from the treatment area. This typically means placing dogs outside and crating cats or keeping them in a separate room.
The presence of children and pets can reduce treatment effectiveness and limit the technician’s ability to properly service the property.
Please avoid cooking or preparing food before or during treatment. Do not leave exposed food items on counters, including fruit, cooking oils, spices, or packaged foods.
Remove all items from kitchen cabinets, including food, dishes, pots, and pans. Place these items on the kitchen table or in another room. Do not place items on kitchen counters, as the counters will also be treated.
Remove any items stored on top of the refrigerator and stove. If food begins to defrost, place it back into the refrigerator.
Small appliances such as microwaves, blenders, and coffee machines may remain on the counter.
Ensure the home is well-lit during treatment. Proper lighting helps technicians inspect and treat effectively. Dark environments allow roaches more time to seek shelter and food sources.
Roaches may scatter into kitchens, bathrooms, or other rooms when disturbed. For this reason, the technician must have full and unrestricted access to the entire home. When treating German roaches, we strongly recommend treating the entire house for best results.
After Treatment Instructions
Following these post-treatment instructions is crucial for long-term roach elimination.
Airing out the home after treatment is not necessary and may reduce the effectiveness of the treatment.
You may return items to cabinets once all treated surfaces are completely dry.
Use this opportunity to discard unwanted items and properly seal food before placing it back into cabinets.
Pro tip: Seal pasta and cereal boxes, and place flour and sugar bags in airtight containers or zip-top bags.
Empty kitchen and bathroom trash every night to eliminate food sources.
Avoid eating in bedrooms until roach activity is fully contained and eliminated.
Seal pet food bags nightly and avoid leaving pet dishes out overnight.
Clean the kitchen daily and avoid leaving dirty dishes in the sink overnight.
For Severe or Heavy Infestations
Dry kitchen and bathroom sinks nightly using a bleach or alcohol solution.
Plug drains at night to reduce moisture access.
Seal sponges and dishcloths in airtight containers or plastic bags when not in use.
